The Ages of Pages book festival is coming up fast, and I am absolutely, definitely, completely on top of everything. [nervous laughter]

Here’s what’s actually happening. I have a table booked, a Toyota Vitz that laughs in the face of my optimism, and a list of things that need to happen before the end of April that is frankly not getting any shorter.

The pre-purchases are sorted—you can organize yours HERE if you haven’t already. Backlist titles are at special prices and won’t be there on the day unless you’ve bought them beforehand. New releases get priority boarding in the Vitz.

I’ve been down several internet rabbit holes this week hunting for little giveaways to include with purchases. I have opinions about this now. Many opinions. None of them have resulted in a decision yet.

The table layout needs thinking about, and the credit card reader needs to be checked and checked again. The pull up banners featuring men who’ve lost their shirts need to be located and not forgotten at home.

I looked at sprayed edges for the new releases. They’re beautiful. I also know that a lot of people are doing it tough financially, so that particular indulgence is going on the back burner for now. But, it’ll definitely happen in the future.

There are approximately one million other things on the list, and while Mercury goes direct on Friday, it’ll continue being a jerk for several days after that. The Spirit + Flesh manuscript is still happening. Mia remains unbothered by all of it.

One thing at a time. Possibly two if the coffee holds.

All going according to plan, the paperback will land before the festival. Because apparently I enjoy a challenge. If I do manage to pull a rabbit out of the hat and get this ready in time, I’ll let you know when I add it to the pre-purchase website.

If you're one of those people (like I am) who wants to know before anyone else when a new book is live, then definitely subscribe to my SUBSTACK. When you do, it will give you exclusive access to the password-protected BIRD BOX with extra scenes, short stories, and novellas.
