Andie the Vampire Slayer?

Thirst Trapped is done (and so are those two vampires)

The last thing I did when I was deep in the edits, and before I could call Thirst Trapped finished? Killed two vampires. Right there in the Epilogue. No regrets. Which vampires, you might ask? Well, there’s truly only one way to find out, and it will only cost you $1.00. That is until the book goes live on the main retailer sites.

I don’t bother with THE END anymore. I haven’t done that since I finished the manuscript for This Girl’s Abroad (which then became Friday Night Fever). Back then, after typing those two words, I genuinely thought I was done. I had no idea how much work comes after that. The revisions, the edits, the back-and-forth. All of it.

What I remember is bursting into tears when the manuscript was accepted by a publisher in the States. A boutique publisher, but legit. Not a vanity press. It mattered. A lot. The editor they assigned to me taught me more about craft than I could have expected, and I loved working with her on my first three novels.

Finishing the first draft of Thirst Trapped was different. I knew what came next. I was no longer naïve about the work I faced. But there’s still something that settles over you when the story is finally told. The characters go quiet (although never for long). You close the document. And that’s that.

Before it officially goes live on April 14th, I’ve requested a proof of the paperback because there are always things you catch when holding a printed copy. Even truer is the mistake(s) you inevitably spot when holding a copy without the proof mark on it.

The ebook is already LIVE on my FourthWall store at the EXCLUSIVE PRE-RELEASE PRICE of $1. Consider this your insider access. Once it goes live on other retail sites, the price will increase.

QUENCH YOUR THIRST FOR $1.00

If you’re genuinely worried about blowing a whole dollar on something you might not like, you can read the full first chapter right HERE first. Just be aware it has since been edited to within an inch of its life. The final version is a little tighter, a little better, and with a few more vampires dying.

Does this mean I’ll be wandering around the house in my PJs and staring at walls? Heck no. I’ve got two other books I’m working on, plus getting everything in place for the upcoming book festival.

The biggest concern on that front now is the price of gas, and whether there will even be gas available at ridiculously inflated prices when the festival rolls around. If only I could teleport like Frankie Bonny in my Marina Witches Mystery series.

I’d certainly get a lot more done, that’s for damned sure. Speaking of which, it’s time to get back to Spirit + Flesh, the first in my Bridge of Realms romantasy series.

This post is about finishing Thirst Trapped, a vampire romantic suspense novel, and what it feels like to type the last word on a book you've been living inside. It also includes an exclusive pre-release deal for subscribers: the ebook is available now for $1 on my FourthWall store before the April 14th retail launch.
